Highland Park Distillery

A warm and calm day, but overcast and mist on the horizon.

An early start this morning, and the Jarl Squad headed out after breakfast.  The tourists have fairly been snapping us all day. The day started with photos at Northlink ferry, and then we headed out for a tour.  Next stop was to see Alpacas and goats in Deerness, then on to the Highland Park Distillery, then down to the Churchill barriers and the Italian chapel, back to Kirkwall for a chip supper and back to Stromness.  Scalloway lost the football tonight, followed by a sing song in the legion.  Of out again tonight.

A brilliant day out with the gang, and the distillery was certainly a great highlight.  The tour lasted about two hours, and learnt a brief history of the business.  We also had the joys of tasting a few different whiskies, but an Oban is still my favourite.  Here's the squad outside the Highland Park Distillery in Kirkwall.
