Bully beef and chips......

A wet day today. My last spring calving cow calved yesterday so had to look for it this morning as she had hidden it in the rushes. But she knew exactly where it was and soon came charging back once I found it.
Headed off with Littlemiss to a Beef Group visit to a farm near Kelso. Saw some very
good cows and calves and a very impressive new handling system which they had just built costing 60K. Good job someone has faith in the cattle trade for the future. Brexit and a government intent on wrecking the country’s agriculture economy definitely make the job much harder for us all .
Stopped off in Kelso for chips and a wee walk round the square , then back up the road in time to go round the away from home cattle tonight .
Junior was off sitting his driving theory test today and managed to pass. All I can say is I’m glad they didn’t have that in my day - a quick read of a number plate at 75 yards and a few random road signs from the Highway Code book was about it in 1980s !
