All finished

Zoltan came and finished off the walls and woodwork today. And what a good job he's made of the whole thing. Bubbles in the old wallpaper have been fixed, bad joins in the dado rail and terrible joins in skirting boards are now perfect. The fire surround, which had many nail holes (twinkly lights at Christmas) and was generally very scruffy - is all pristine now. He finished about 5.30, having worked methodically from 9am.

Michael took Archie out for a walk, and in the afternoon JR planted up the new window box, with Archie's 'help'. He's waiting to grab an empty plant pot and run off with it.

After tea we put a few things back in the lounge, and I managed to get the TV hooked up and working again, although I had three spare cables. Got it all set up in time to catch the third set of the exciting Heriot/Gauff game!

We're just having a wee G&T to celebrate the new gorgeous room. Will hang the paintings up tomorrow. It's been a busy week, but what a change - new fire, new wall colour. Just need that remote control for the fire now and we'll be even happier.
