On the jet plane way down the runaway.

I really thought today I was going to get one of those shots that you wish you didn't get. 

We were driving home from Ayr  - past the end of the East - West Runway  when this Antonov AN -12 took off.  We could not believe the smoke we drove through  - and the smoke continued pumping as it carried on it's way.

I quickly pulled into the layby - we both seriously believed that this plane was going to come down; and we watched as it flew east, and then waivered north, and east, and west and the north again... smoke pumping the whole time. 

Himself, googled quickly the airline. CAVOK air.    A Ukrainian Air Freight company.  And guess what's on google... other planes - just like this taking off and leaving behind a trail of thick black smoke. 

Horrific. .
