Rocky mountaineer

We set out early this morning for the train station. Once the train got going we were served cocktails- yes at 8 am followed by a two course breakfast followed by coffee then drinks and snacks then a3 course lunch then drinks and snacks then cookies and more drinks. The journey took from 7:30 this morning to 6pm this evening to Kamloops. We felt sorry for the train in the opposite direction, they had been held up for goodness knows how long. The freight train 3 in front of them had broken down. They were having to get engineers out to it as the engine had broken an axle. All trains behind were piling up. It is single track so no way of passing. And we moan about our trains.
We are now relaxing in the hotel after a long and tiring day.
The e trains an osprey nest built on a bridge and started over 100 years ago. Amazing. We didn’t know the birds would literally pass on the nest to the next generation who would just carry on building it. The orange netting is material from fences that has been added over time
O, almost forgot. It was Alang’s birthday today and our carrige hosts gave him a card and a gift of a pen and journal. These cannot be purchased as they are only given on the train for celebrations
