Pacific Yellow Fin

This vessel was docked in Ganges harbour today, so of course we had to have a look. Fascinating history:
   -built by the US army in 1942 as a Junior Mine Planter to protect the east coast of the US in WWll, 
   -used by California Fish and Game as a research vessel after being decommissioned
   -sold to Clint Pelletier and used as a gun runner in Central America, delivering guns to anti-Castro and Che Guevara forces and involved in the Bay of Pigs fiasco
   -used by a commune as a houseboat on the Sacramento River
   -bought by the Tacoma Tow Boat company in the '80s to do research for the US Navy
   -purchased by Pete Whittier, a millionaire oilman, who started the restoration process of the vessel
   -sold to Colin Griffinson in 2000
   -now used as a luxury charter yacht
