Blipmeet in London

I had an amazing day meeting these two lovely blippers Paladian and rower2012 who are visiting the UK from Adelaide.
We decided to go to the Natural History Museum in Kensington as it was something we were all interested in and it was brilliant!
We viewed the Wildlife photographer of the year exhibition which was really good, some of the images just took my breath away, and I was shocked to see that some were taken with quite basic camera equipment too - which gave me fresh hope! I do feel that the 10 year olds that use a Canon 1dxmkll and L series lens are at a huge advantage over normal 10 year olds though and wonder if there should be rules about what equipment they can use.
After the exhibition we had a delicious coffee and carrot cake - Thank you Paladian, then just wandered round...it is such an amazing place, I have added extras of the colourful parrots 'flying ' under the beautiful museum ceiling, and the insect diversity exhibit which was a large perspex case with insects flying and crawling all round it.
We ended up in the geology section which none of us especially wanted to see but it was just so good we ended up spending hours in there! The mineral crystals were beautiful, in such a diverse range of colours and shapes - although most of the brightest ones were from compounds containing Arsenic and Vanadium both of which are toxic - typical!
I have added a shot of some wonderful green cylindrical crystals as my final extra, they were in the section called 'The Vault' so I guess are as valuable as they are beautiful.
Thank you so much Paladian and rower2012 for a truely enjoyable day.
