Across the road !

We spent quite some time opening presents. The lads were, understandibly, very excited. Later on in the morning we all set off for a breath of fresh air to beach. No sun today( or snow - thank goodness!) but chance for a family photo group just below Banburgh Castle. A good walk along the beach with Oliver finding a hermit crab on the tide line. The Farne Islands appeared to be quite close, maybe a couple of miles or so off the coast. Northwards Holy Island was quite visible just short of the horizon.
A large family gathering at The Victoria Hotel later for an excellent lunch and a pint of the local Farne Island brew.
Back at the house several games of Monopoly were played only to be beaten by my Grandchildren every time !
