The Rose Garden
Mottisfont Abbey holds the National Collection of Old Roses which come to their peak in June, it is also just a 15-20min drive from work so with the sun shining, and late night opening, a visit was just too good an opportunity to miss.
I spent an inordinate amount of time watching and shooting a Small Tortoiseshell butterfly which was enjoying the nectre of a scabious (extra), but with a nod to Ingeborg's Abstract Thursday Challenge, I had a go at some Pep Ventosa inspired images. The main shot is actually the first, and best, I tried of a modern (1983) shrub rose 'Graham Thomas', planted on a busy corner of a bed - the multi-exposure has managed to mask most of the visitors!
