A lovely day for a collie pup

Today I have had such a lovely time. This morning I went up Blackford Hill. The last time I went up Blackford Hill I was on my long lead so I didn't get to zoom around wherever I wanted. Now I'm a big grown up collie pup I get to run around 'off lead' all the time. I'm ever so good when I'm off my lead. I mostly keep an eye on Ann at all times and she's not really worried any more about me running off and losing her. My recall is pretty good too. I still don't come back if I'm playing with other pups but do you know what?.......................... If I'm playing and the other doggie goes off down a different path to where Ann wants to go, she just hides so that I can't see her. So then I have to go zooming around until I find her. I don't think I would like to lose Ann.

This afternoon I went to the field to play with my ball. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon and I was tired after my morning walk. I still raced after my ball though. I didn't want Ann to think that I wasn't up to it. I'm getting quite good at bringing the ball back to Ann and dropping it so that she can throw if for me again but today I also had to have a few little rests under the trees in shady places cos it was so hot.

Oh and Ann needs to have a teeny, weeny, little RANT here...................................

When she first started coming to Edinburgh with 'MollyCollie' poor little MollyCollie just got ignored when we were out. No-one told her she was gorgeous and no-one made a fuss of her. It was like every dog in Edinburgh was some sort of pedigree or had been crossed with a poodle so was some sort of 'doodle'. No one ever stopped Ann to tell her what a gorgeous collie Molly was. It was like because she was old and not a pedigree or a doodle no one wanted to know. And MollyCollie was the most gorgeous collie in the world. Obviously I am very gorgeous too!

Anyway people are always stopping Ann and telling her how pretty I am or asking what kind of dog I am. People are sooo superficial?!! Is it because I'm a puppy? Is it because I'm not a black and white collie? Is it because I'm so friendly and want to talk to everyone? I'm certainly not a pedigree dog. At least I don't think I am???????

It's very annoying though that MollyCollie was ignored for most of her time in Edinburgh. Oh well, ho hum, life moves on I suppose.

OK RANT over!
