Still poorly

Today, Ben was in his first ever "nativity".

I missed it.

Charley missed being in his first ever nativity as well.

I've been blaming teething but I'm beginning to think he's got 'flu as well, he's had a constant fever for two days, is off his food, lethargic, sleeping a lot more than usual, very out of sorts. Another badly broken night last night, and none of us wanted to get up this morning.

Anyway Charley and I managed to get to church in time for the applause signalling the end of the service: Ben had already been collected by Steve who gone early to set up. I didn't even get to see Ben while he was dressed as a shepherd. I cried a little bit and then fought back the tears the rest of the time.

Ben enjoyed himself though. By all accounts he was a good shepherd, had a blast on the bouncy castle, actually ate food, and was sad to come home at the end.

Mug delivered to its delighted recipient, poster being delivered later this evening. Lunch was our breakfast of cheese slices and croissants, re-heated pizza, and mince pies (I got handed a packet of mince pies "PLEASE have a whole packet!" I think they over-catered but that's better than running out isn't it!) while Charley grumbled and cried and slept.

Eventually the littlest one woke up. Stole a biscuit out of my hands, realised there were Wii games happening, and clambered over and stole a remote! 4pm. And actually cheerful. Thank goodness!

Cheerfulness lasted through a birthday skype call to Steve's mum (Happy Birthday mum!), peaked at Robin and Rachel's house (we dosed him up on brufen before we left our house) and crumbled once we got home.

Although he did perk up enough as I was putting two very tired boys to bed to suddenly sit up and lunge over me just as I thought everyone was all settled to give Ben a huge raspbery woozle on his arm!

He slept fitfully though, shivering and whimpering and crying in his sleep, and has spent half the evening trying to fall asleep on the sofa with me.

Unfortunately for him we've been watching Victoria Wood though and my shaking with laughter has not gone down very well!
