Underneath the laburnum trees
I've been waiting for these trees to flower, in the Old High Churchyard. It's come up a bit dark. The extra shot is of the raised door on the church tower. I looked up a book called, 'Tales of the Old High,' and it says:
"The purpose of the upper door is a matter of some conjecture. Access would have been by means of wooden steps, or a retractable ladder - a common defensive arrangement." So there you have it.
