Atypical Christmas Treats

It's one of many bonds between us that Phil and I both love Scottish oatcakes (delicious with marmalade) -- and the addition of bits of stem ginger makes them even more appealing!

These were on sale at our food co-op -- I think we'd better lay in some more.

You can see another unusual food bond between us -- this one homemade -- on Phil's blip today.

(Marketing Musings: The last packet of the oatcakes was labeled "Nairn's organic oatcake crackers;" this new package says "Nairn's organic Scottish oat crackers." More hints that the new packaging is aimed at Americans: the former package had one panel repeating the front panel's information in French, but the new package doesn't -- instead, it has information about Nairn's heritage, their oat cookies, and why their oat crackers are "naturally satisfying." I don't care what they say on their packages, as long as I can always buy them here!)
