Faded glory

I’ve been watching this huge peony bloom slowly dry out.

So much stone in our Tuscan soil. Filled buckets from just one small terrace (terrazzamento). Planted cannelloni and haricot beans - 5 rows for drying for winter protein.

Hoed garlic shallots and onions. Fumitory is the star weed at the moment. Is it called fumitory because it spreads like smoke (‘fumo’)?

The rain held off and soil drying out but deluge forecast for tomorrow. Greenhouse full of stuff to plant out but ‘il tempo brutto’ still has a way to go.
