Blossom in Braidburn Valley Park

A nice, but chilly morning. I have the day off work to do a recovery ride after Sunday's epic ride. There's a hint of an easterly, so I head out through Dalkeith, the quite B and A roads before taking country roads through West Saltoun to East Saltoun. Here I follow the B road through Gifford, then turn off onto the Garvald road. I don't go as far as Garvald, I turn off on to the Chesters road to head for Haddington, via a B road.

I cycle through Haddington, which is quite busy for a Tuesday, and turn on to the A road over the Garlton Hills to Aberlady, via Avenue Road and the coast road. The wind seems to be NE now, as it isn't pushing me along the coast to Port Seton and Cockenzie and Prestonpans, more of a cross wind. Which is handy as from Cockenzie to Musselburgh, I cycle quite fast (apart from the traffic lights, which turn red as soon as I am in range).
The wind offers no assistance for the last part of the ride through Musselburgh to home. That''s mainly up hill, so I spin slowly home. Not so much blue sky, but at least it warmed up a bit.

A nice ride at 90.5km. The whole ride can be seen at Relive here.

After a quick lunch, I walk down to Morningside just to chill out a bit. The clouds have come in, so the afternoon is a bit dull. On my way I walk through the Braidburn Valley Park. the blossom is just starting to turn, so I get a few shots of the blossom still on the trees. A nice afternoon coffee and cake before heading home via the supermarket.

Work tomorrow, but only three days. Excellent.
