A special milestone
......we are celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary, we got married 25 years ago today!
The day started with a leisurely breakfast and the. we opened all our cards and messages from family and friends.
Then it was a full on day exploring this beautiful county! Bamburgh Castle first in the main blip, which was awesome, then me and the beach which was stunning (last extra) even the mist (or sea fret, as we learned the locals call it) that rolled in was spectacular!
After hub relived his youth playing hoop and stick (second extra) it was time for a little light refreshment in the Castle tearooms, before it was on to Seahouses, followed by Alnwick.
The Castle and gardens there looked pretty good too, although the town centre was very busy and we struggled to park, so decided to leave Alnwick for another day and doubled back to Craster (first extra). This was a good move.
We walked along the harbour, had a cuppa in a little seafront cafe, a quick call into the Smokehouse, then a walk along the sea coastal path towards Dunstanburgh Castle. 15k steps, then back at base for a chill before getting ready for dinner.
We got dolled up for our anniversary dinner, another lovely meal, which included a dessert too, plus some lovely fizz and chocolates compliments of hotel, courtesy of Jane, a fellow mancunian, who looked after us so so d extra). After dinner we headed to the bar for a coffee and hub had a brandy too.
An altogether fabulous day.
