High and Dry (almost)

When last I was here the tide was in and this spot at Eling on the upper reaches of Southampton Water was alive with sun worshipers taking advantage of both the waterside scenery and an early summer mini-heatwave.
By contrast today the tide was out and with temperatures only just about in double figures, the quayside and its waterfront looked rather bleak, with the appearance of rather more stretches of mudbank than water and its favoured water sport and boating venue.
The impact of double tides on Southampton Water makes all the difference to this spot as a place to enjoy the waterfront. Next time, I must check the high tide predictions before I come!
