Bowled Over

Delighted to see the new cricket pavilion at Wellow rapidly taking shape and it appears to be full steam ahead to be ready for the new season.

It replaces an old building which had stood on the village Recreation Ground for as long as I can remember, and I have lived in the village now for a good many years.

We’ve said before that the Wellow and Plaitford Cricket Club who have their home fixtures on the ground will be bowled over and by the new facilities and more than welcome the new pavilion and they richly deserve a new home since the adult team were unbeaten in their division of the Hampshire county league last season, winning all nine of their matches, securing a top-of-the-table finish for the second successive season.
