Day 2 Barcelona
Our camp Nou tour was supposed to have been today but the club cancelled it due to the Man United match tomorrow so I had to re-book it. That left us with a free day to explore Barcelona. I'm glad it happened as we packed so much into today.
After a lovely breakfast at the hotel, we got the underground and the funicular and headed to the castle. It was poorly signposted but we managed to find it and we were glad that we'd persevered. The views of the city and the port were spectacular. We then headed to the Olympic stadium which was also pretty impressive and the beautiful art gallery (pictured). By the gallery there appeared to be wild parrots nesting which I tried to get a picture of.
We headed back to Placa Catalunya for lunch of a beautiful waffle covered in melted Nutella (yum) and then went towards the beach.
I was shocked to see a naked man sunbathing but the area around the beach is lovely. We even spotted an official Manchester United coach and hung about for a bit just in case the team were close by. Unfortunately, they weren't but Chris spotted an ex player.
We walked miles and our feet and legs were aching by the end of the day but it was worthwhile as we really enjoyed it. We even caught the sun!
