Melvyn Biggin da Stack
A cold breeze again, and a dull and showery morning. It eased in the afternoon, and a sunny evening.
I arrived at the museum, then me and Melvyn headed down to the Croft House Museum. We finished earlier than expected, and spent the afternoon in the museum. A mad dash after tea, and headed for my shift in the pub. Popped along Madeline's for a cuppa, walkies with Sammy after, and now feet up for the night.
The peat supply for the summer season arrived a while back, so me and Melvyn (Leask) headed down to build the peat stack. It wasn't the best quilty of peat for biggin (building) with, but it will burn good. After a cuppa, we got started. Melvyn claimed he was a novice at it, and I'm no expert, but hopefully he picked up a few pointers, as we went along. Here's Melvyn busy at work, making good progress. Taken at the Croft House Museum, South Voe, Boddam.
