Diary of an Edinburgher

Double joy!

Many thanks for the kind words on my blipday yesterday, which took me by surprise. Apologies for it being a bit of a whinge-a-thon, being thoroughly pre-occupied with the lack of progress in the kitchen renovations.

However, today is MUCH more positive! We have kitchen lights! AND it's Archie's fifth birthday! Double joy.

Actually, we completely ignored his birthday (he doesn’t really know), but Rufus and his mum didn’t, bless! They arrived bearing gifts. How very sweet of Christine. Archie was very excited (though he doesn’t look it), especially about the brilliant treat jar - 'Bone apetit!'

Though it wasn’t the best weather, Michael came and took Archie for a big walk up Blackford Hill! I popped to the hospital for an ECG. All normal, so next step is the dreaded exercise ECG.

Archie had a happy day - as well as his big walk - Andrew, the boss (and his favourite builder), came. At one point, JR came out to the hall, to find Andrew kneeling down, with Archie up on his hind legs giving him a big cuddle. Mind you, after several days of his non-appearance, Andrew nearly got the same welcome from us!
