Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

All clean!

Not a lot done today - one of the chaps is sick. The other chap plastered the walls and did a lovely job too. But... we're beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel!

Just:
Lining paper,
Painting,
Extraction fan,
Lights,
Flooring in the shower area,
More boxing in of beams etc.
Sanding of floors,
Oh, and taking all the rubbish away...

The painter chap did one coat on the windows, another coat tomorrow. I admired his steady hand. No splodges on the glass. Respect!

Today was very exciting - I had a shower, the first for - well - I won’t even mention that... Once Jordan had taken Archie out for a huge long walk (three buzzards spotted all at once), I went up to the gym to partake of their shower facilities. It was 'Bring a Friend Friday' for members, so I wandered in with JR, though I didn’t bother with the gym equipment. Anyway, I spoke to one of my erstwhile gym instructors, who said of course I could use their showers, as I used to be a member. So I will.

I wasn’t the only one to have a good all over scrub. Archie hasn’t had a bath for ages, partly because he hasn’t been muddy from walks (it's been so dry) so we've just brushed him. But mainly because we've had water problems this week, so doggy baths went by the board.

JR has been enthusiastically participating in a Fitness Bingo game for the past month, run by Edinburgh Leisure. She had to do lots of different activities to complete the card. And she won! The wonderful prize is, er, a free month. And some free passes. Well done, JR!

It's in the news about how older folk watching a lot of TV leads to memory loss... so I had the radio on today instead. Hope it helped. Though I often can’t think of the word... Check out this article about (not even old) folk not remembering the right word. Hilarious.

So here's Archie, looking somewhat pi**ed off, having a scrub in the bathroom sink. Look at those huge hairy feet!
