Habitudes & Hobbit.

Today's photo is just life. No attempts to make it prettier. Elsa is preparing dinner, Ludovic is making Italian tests and we're drinking tea and eating madelines. My phone is ringing on the table - it's Thibault calling to ask about my lessons tomorrow. This is my life this year.

The day started at 8am with my BTS class. I wasn't looking forward to it, I thought they would be like the STMG class, uncontrollable, but they were lovely and friendly. They really got into the game that I'd prepared. Some of them were my age, and there were three boys who were attractive. Never going to get used to the weird teacher, pupil, but being the same age thing. After that I came home for breakfast and then went to my next Terminal class, did the same technology game which went down quite well. Then my STMG class. Who did work. And didn't continually shout. And seemed to understand the activity. Amazing. Yolande suggested that I go over to hers on Wednesday afternoons after the holidays to cook together and play board games with her children. It sounds like lots of fun and very homely!

Came home for a quick lunch and then headed out to meet Ludovic and Elsa at the cinema to watch The Hobbit in 3D. As my first 3D film and as a film dubbed in French, it was a very weird experience. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt like such a nerd being a the first possible screening of the new film but Ludovic is a big Tolkein fan (his parakeets are even named after Tolkein characters which is pretty cool!) Went back to theirs for tea and cake and then dinner and rum. It felt really normal to hang out with them, with them kind of going about their lives and me being a part of that.

In the evening, we went to The Jacobean, an English themed pub which sells fish & chips and whose owner is an Englishman called Dave. There was a quiz on Tolkein and we came second after a little bit of controversy (we were initially 1st!) getting 36 out of 40. Not too bad I don't think. I acted as translator as I know very little about Tolkein. Was really lovely though, and Ludovic & Elsa seemed to get on well with Hati & Dom who were also there. Just realised that I was crashing some sort of bilingual double date. Anyway, afterwards headed back to L&E's for more cakes. I love how Ludovic just decides to bake things at midnight when he gets hungry, we made coeurs de palmiers, little pastries dipped in sugar and watched a French comedy called Fais pas ci, fais pas ca. Had such a French day and managed to survive.

Also learnt the proper pronounciation of recemment - sounds like recAment!
