Farewell June

My Aunt June passed away recently, resulting in a trip to the UK for her funeral. In spite of the sadness, there were also laughs and smiles as we remembered anecdotes about her life. Her husband, a retired clergyman, gave a wonderfully funny and heartfelt tribute to her at the service of commemoration. Tea and cakes afterwards at the parish hall rounded the day off. Very English indeed. At the crematorium, the flowers were laid out for us to view. June had played the role of vicar’s wife with compassion and genuine love for others. She also loved walking and some of her rambler colleagues of many many years were at the services. June’s old walking boots holding some of the flowers summed her up. Bye bye June.
