Shiplaw
A very cold start to the day. I start off my Sunday ride with the intention of doing the Midlothian ride. The same route I did two weeks ago, However, after heading out to Penicuik, and climbing up Pomathorn to Mount Lothian I head down towards Gladhouse. However the Gladhouse road is looking frosty and icy looking. Instead I carry on towards Peebles. As I don't have much time, I follow the A703 to the Lamancha turn off, heading NW. This road climbs up to Shiplaw farm, where I stop and take my blip looking east to Dundreich.
I then continue along the minor road, which has been resurfaced in a lot of places, only two potholes encountered, and not as bumpy as I remembered from the last time. It climbs quite high, before diving down, with a couple of blind bends to the A701 at Whim Farm., From there, I head home through Leadburn Penicuik and the Seafield Moor Rd to Hillend.

Only a quick trip to Morningside in the afternoon, to get some toothpaste. Really should have got it yesterday.
Late afternoon, my partner and I head to Waverley station. We are going, with friends, to see Holy Holy at the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow (Fuzzy Extra). A tribute concert to the late great David Bowie, supported by Toni Visconti (Bowie's producer, and bass player on 'The Man Who Sold the World') and Woody Woodmansey (Bowie's drummer). They cover three albums and other hits he had from 1969 to 1973. It finishes in time to get the second last train back to Edinburgh, which enables my partner and I to get the last bus home.
