Archie assists

Lots of progress today. Two beams lifted in - one humungous one, I don’t know how they lifted it. Well, I do know - with difficulty, four of them, but obviously something they had done before. The rest of the day was spent bricking them in place and fixing them together with gigantic bolts. A day off (for us) tomorrow while it all dries.

Isobel came to take Archie out. She hasn’t been able to come for ages due to her busy schedule. They were delighted to see each, and went a big long walk through the Hermitage.

JR went to collect paint samples. Apparently you need to compare dozens of shades of 'white' to choose the 'right' white!

Here's Archie giving advice to the chaps before they lift the big beam. I'm finding it really interesting seeing how things are done. Builders are very clever. And hard working!

PS a few days ago I took a photo of a Banksy ‘before it got vandalised’ as there was already rubbish written around it.
Now look...
