Beauty is all around us.

Photos from the Stepping Out walk.

The weather here was beautifully sunny and frosty cold in the early morning.
I was doing the Monday wash, and suddenly I noticed horrid thick black smoke coming from a nearby backyard.
I felt very uneasy about this and did not want to stay in the house.
I popped out to the letter box to post a few Christmas cards and checked the length of the queue. It looked a bit busy so I walked in the direction of home.
John the window cleaner, joked that my house looked like it was on fire.
I laughed back.
He said he wouldn't like to clean windows near that acrid smoke, it was very toxic by the look of it. He suggested I phone the Council which I did and explained how my downstairs rooms had been polluted by this terrible rubber smelling smoke.
There was little empathy, but when I mentioned it was black smoke the lady at the Council office said its dangerous and they would send someone round.
No one so far, and it is 1.30pm! These people deserve a fine for the ghastly pollution and breaking the law.
I decided to join the Stepping out group to get away from the pollution, and as a result, breathed in better air and got some nice photos for my collage today. The walks are every Monday from 10.30 for about an hour.
We passed some lovely scenery, frost in places, sheep, horse and farmhouses.
We strolled back along the canal and saw three swans, one was a cygnet. Sorry about the rant but I am cross.
I still have quite alot of faith in human nature but these people have crossed the line!
