Sunrise over Dusseldorf

Woke up to this beautiful view this morning. The air was so clear and crisp but it was absolutely freezing. We made the most of the breakfast at the hostel, yogurt and fruit and bread and jam, all very lovely. Made our way into Dusseldorf, I put my feet in plastic bags to stop them getting wet, sadly this did not help. Took the train to Cologne for more Christmas markets. These ones were so good, although very busy. Got to try lots of tasters of Stollen, dried fruits, roasted chesnuts. For lunch I ate bratwurst as I had to attempt to be German and Laura and Katie had Raclette. There were fairies walking round covering people in glitter which was lovely. We enjoyed milling around the stalls until it got almost too cold to bare and we were forced to head to get more hot chocolate and I had to indulge in a chocolate praline cake, got to say however, that the French still do cakes better than anyone else!

We headed back to Dusseldorf and went to a Thai restaurant. Not exactly very German but every bit if not better than Wagamama, the food was amazing if a little spicy. I had a very rich Thai Green curry. Next we went to get Gluhwein and looked round more markets. Back to the hostel with Milka for more chats in our pjs. Perfect.
