Winter Warmers
Today, was, clearly, a Sunday and in true European style everything was closed and so we headed over to a cafe for hot chocolate and to meet Laura's housemate Paul (Irish guy as he is affectionately known!) I ordered the most massive cake I have ever seen, bigger than my head some may say which was absolutely lovely. It was almond and honey flavour and filled with cream. We headed back to Schweiner Janes for more pork as Katie really loves this place. A bit more milling around markets and then it was time to say goodbye to Katie who was heading back to Munster. Laura came with me to the airport so we had a bit more time for chatting (there's lots to discuss as not everyone got on campus accomodation for next year and so we're not sure what to do!) but then it was time for the dreaded goodbye. Kept it short and sweet. Trying not to think about it. Flight was delayed again but ended up sitting next to a french pilot on the way home who chatted to me all the way in French. It is this that makes me think my French has improved, normally I would not be able to make small talk to strangers as I wouldn't be able to understand their accents! After lots of trains I arrived home at 11.30. Tired but so worth it. All in all a lovely weekend despite a few hiccups!
