The Frozen North
A brilliantly sunny morning, with a heavy frost showing little sign of melting.
We walked by the Teviot and had the place to ourselves. There wasn't much stirring, apart from a few mallards. We had hopes of seeing the resident kingfisher, but it didn't appear. We met one dog-walker on our way back and she said she'd seen it every day for the last two weeks - apart from today.
I've never seen a kingfisher, but I live in hope.
