Bah!
My planned blip for today didn't work out, so I'm resorting to cheatery.
This is part of a photo that my cousin emailed to me today. Meet our Great-great Grandfather, Arthur Johnson, born 1820 and died in 1916. Other than that, the only things I know about his life are that: he died in the same tiny hamlet that he was born in; that he was a farmer; that his father was press-ganged and managed to escape and get back home: that he had ten children. I suppose my father, born 1913, would have met him, though he would have had no memory of it. Strange how close the past can seem.
I think it's also safe to say that he wasn't keen on having his photograph taken.
