Not a Bad Old Life!
Woke up this morning in our Barcelona bed and must admit that we didn't rush to get up as I think we both needed a wee sleep catch up, after the overnight flight from Rio and my choice to indulge in watching films, documentary, tv programmes on the flight rather than try to sleep. Coffee in bed, then a walk round our barrio and a wee bit beyond to check out any changes. For me, this was the last time since Oct 9th that I’ve been here at home for 24 hours!!
The most significant change was Chin giving up his cafe bar on Calle Nicaragua (what we call our 'main drag') and we chatted to the two new Spanish owners who seem very nice. Interesting that this is the first Chinese to Spanish management that we can remember! Chin is dedicating himself to running his restaurant next door, which is good news.
As I blip from a place on Avenida Diagonal, about 20' walk from our house here, we're listening to great live jazz/blues music from a saxophonist, having a drink and thinking of having dinner in Tramonti Italian 5’ away, it's not difficult to see that we don't have a bad old life!
However, I stood on the scales in our bathroom this afternoon and tomorrow dawns the day of a period of healthy eating choices and exercise for Bb and me. Ssshhhh, Bb doesn’t know yet :-)
