Tiki
In tidying my office, I found a box containing this tiki which I acquired when the family emigrated briefly to New Zealand more than fifty years ago. I was very pleased to find it again and it has been display space by my desk. In Maori mythology, Tiki is the first man created. He found the first woman, Marikoriko, in a pond; she seduced him and he became the father of Hine-kau-ataata. By extension, a tiki is a large or small wooden or stone carving in humanoid form.
