The winner!!!

The annual Boxing Day duck race in the village. No we didn't have the winning duck.

We walked up with E, her Mum and two sons. After last year's very slow race, the course this year was reversed and shortened, but even so the canoeists had to do a bit of bobbing up and down to try and move the ducks along. There was one in the lead most of the way, but in the last push they all joined together and arrived en-mass!!! (in extras)

A bit of fun and a good fund raiser. There were lots of dogs, as well as families, so a noisy affair.

I've spent the afternoon in front of the TV watching the David Attenborough programmes.......Singapore and Penguins.....loves of my life :0)

But never being able to do just one thing at a time, I also finished off the outlining on my cross stitch beach huts. My target was by Christmas Day, so only a little late. I will blip it another day, before it comes off the frame.

Now to make the traditional, in this house, Boxing Day quiche. I should have made the pastry earlier to rest in the fridge, but was distracted, so it will be thrown together and cooked!! No visitors this evening so it will be OK whatever I do :0)
