Happy Christmas!
We've had a brilliant day - stockings and gifts in the morning then food prep whilst the men took the kids to the park. We prepared 30 Christmas meals, dessert and bucket loads of coffee. At 1,30 we all headed to where we were meeting our homeless friends and set up camp for the day...so much fun having lunch with them all. We spent all afternoon together, chatting, eating, playing football, eating chocolates, pulling crackers etc etc... We also met a few new people which was brilliant! All meals went, so absolutely no waste! The kids all loved it too and enjoyed being outside with the guys. I went and took some food to a couple of people who didn't come up to where we were...such a privilege to sit on the floor with them and just talk for half and hour or so. I felt honoured to be with them.
A special day spent with special people. This is unfortunately the only photo I took whilst we were there, a super quick snap at the start of the afternoon...I should've waited til later and taken something better...but never mind!
Today I'm grateful for;
1) Everyone who helped out today - making food, helping put all the boxes together, hanging out with people.
2) Asha and Nate's delight at their gifts!
3) Meeting some new friends.
