Window Display

One of the cottages in the village puts on a display in their front room each Christmas.  This is the display for Christmas 2018!  Lots of school children pass the window on their way to school so I wonder if this is one of the reasons why it has been put up.  I can imagine that as a child I would have been fascinated by it.

It has been a bright and mild day.  This morning we took Merlin for a walk at Stansted House.  A long distance footpath runs through the estate - the Monarch's Way - so we walked several miles along it.  There were plenty of people out enjoying the sunshine - on horseback, bike and on foot - including a group of birdwatchers with tripods and telescopes.  It is all good experience for Merlin to encounter these things and he generally takes it all in his stride - even a group of walkers in Christmas fancy dress with some very funny hats on!  

After the walk we popped into the farm shop at Stansted and treated ourselves to some food for Christmas.  This afternoon its been one of popping to Liss to collect some things from the house and catching up with my sister by phone.
