"I've got one!"

Dear Diary,

I just adore my wee chickadees.  They swoop in as soon as I start to fill the feeder, even landing on it before I get it to the hanging hook!  They can't wait for the black oil sunflower seeds on offer.  They need the oil in these frigid temperatures.  Yesterday was nearly -10F but this morning it is 22F, a heatwave!  We are due for a warm up which will be very welcome.

Mailed the last two packages and the Christmas cards yesterday so today let the cookie baking begin!  Well, it is a test run really.  I am making Scottish shortbread cookies and I haven't done that in years so today will be a practice bake.  I adore a good shortbread cookie so I'll let you know how they turn out tomorrow.
