the hat shop

a full day in a darkened room whilst the sun shone outside.....as we were all "outside" people, we all found it difficult to bear but, we spent the day sharing our knowledge and experience and learning fascinating things about dung and vultures and the natural social behaviour of large herbivores. I learnt a lot and was fascinated by it all. The day flew by and we went into town to reward ourselves with wine and tapas.
Unfortunately it was dark by the time we reached the centre of the city and we were one day early for the Christmas lights. But I found a wonderful hat shop - a wonderful shop full of wonderful hats - three of us were very tempted to buy hats but I couldn't decide which I wanted most and I knew I needed none....and then the promise of wine waiting for us moved us on.
We ended up eating in a place frequented by locals rather than tourists, by some bizarre turn of events our Chinese participant managed to get this insider information from a local in a bar and so we ate the most wonderful and yummy tapas. Three of us who come from near the coast but live in landlocked countries leapt onto the fish and fought over the best bits - I haven't eaten that much fish for years and it was delicious! At some point we found ourselves drinking something that tasted like alcoholic salad dressing and it all went downhill from then.....I won't mention the karaoke bar....
