Scummy barstewards

Interesting day, got an email late last night from realtor. A 2 bed cottage had just been listed at $28k, so we were out early checking it out.

Nice property so we made the recommendation to our investor friend. He'll take it from there. Good to get back in the game.

Had an early lunch so I could concentrate on the new house for the afternoon.

More cleaning though. Reckon the last tenants had allowed their child to write on just about every surface in the house. Spent a couple of hours with Magic Eraser getting off the scrawl. I didn't do that because we're keeping the existing paint but mainly because I don't want any bleed through after they've been painted.

Then we got onto some really bad areas of cockroach poo. The last tenant had a long couch against the wall and tens of thousands of roaches had walked up a down the back of it and just left droppings all way. 12 feet of roach poo to clean. Plus a corner wall that was covered, plus the skirting boards. It just went on and on.

And then I found more child scrawl. That little monster never missed a surface.

As for some of the other dirt I'm moving, it's just scummy. Remember that my wife has already spent two weeks cleaning this house, I'm merely cleaning the bits she didn't have the stomach to clean or getting the last little bits of deep dirt off.

Ceilings are halfway repaired which is nice, looking a lot better than they did. Got a few more hours of work but they don't exactly jump out at you like they did.
