A rather useless thing

Have you been to an Ideal Home Exhibition or similar, and seen a gadget demonstrated, and found that when you got home the salesman must have put you into a trance and you've been and gone and bought one? This gadget is my pride and joy. I've twiddled cucumbers into spirals, and wondered why. I've used it on potatoes before roasting and seen how they can absorb about ten times their weight in fat as a result. And I've left it in a cupboard for about twenty years - until at last it has found it's true mission in life... as a blip!
