Castle Museum York
Tuesday 16th October 2018
We had a day in York today, partly as a recce for Thursday. Having tested and timed the route to the Minster, using the Park and Ride, we went for a walk around the city walls until we had to come down the scaffolding as the wall was under repair. We wove through the streets to the Castle Museum and had a good time of photography inside. I was amazed how well the camera coped, despite the low light and lack of tripod.
After a quick snack we walked back to the Minster and spent some time inside. Unfortunately there is a lot of scaffolding as they have removed all the organ pipes for cleaning! What a pity it will be like that on Thursday for the service.
We certainly got our quota of steps in today!
