raging beck
An easy journey up to the Lake District until we got to Cumbria where Storm Callum was bearing his teeth. Flooded roads, broken down cars, a few detours and tight squeezes on narrow roads and we eventually arrived. Relieved and in need of a glass of wine.
It only takes a few minutes however to relax and feel at home again at our Langdale timeshare for our favourite week of 3 we take here. Looking out of the lounge window at Langdale Beck roaring and rushing by I don't think I have ever seen it quite this high before. The large boulder we use as a depth monitor is totally submerged. Last year at this time the beck was a trickle at its base. The forecast is better for tomorrow and hopefully the flooded roads will be clear and the beck recede.
