Where it all began!

So hopefully this will be the last day of taking blips exclusively with my phone. I left the charger for my camera in the cottage in Windermere and I have to wait until tomorrow when the current happy holidaymakers leave for the agency to go in and check - fingers crossed.

Today's blip is the alley behing the house where I grew up. I finish early on a Friday and took a wee detour on my ride home to pass by here.

I have been teaching Holly Rose to ride a bike in preperation for Father Christmas bringing her a new bike and it got me thinking about when I first started to peddle. I must have been about Holly's age and I had a bright green Raleigh Strika, man I loved that wee machine! I still remember being pushed along this path for hours on end until I finally took off on my own and started my life long journey on two wheels. Even as an adult, I feel that childish elation when flying about under your own steam and I have to confess, sometimes I let out a Weeeeeeeeee when going down a hill!

There are lots of things that I believe a parent should teach their children amoung which should be how to cycle and how to swim!
