Late Autumn in Lickey Woods
This is the fourth in my series of this path in Lickey Woods. There is a big change from the previous blip on the 18th October. Yesterday's storm blew just about all the remaining leaves off the trees.
In fact it dislodged more than just a few leaves. My walk took me along the path that I discovered just last Thursday, and close to the pond I found the way nearly blocked by a tree that I reckon fell yesterday. I am not surprised it was blown down - the crater that it left behind was totally waterlogged and it's roots were clearly rotten. I wonder how long some of the other trees can tolerate living in a bog.
The first two blips in this series can be seen here and here.
