Goldfinches

I looked out the kitchen window this morning and noticed that the sunflower hearts feeder was completely empty. It was almost full when I last checked it on Tuesday. So I braved the tempest and ventured down to the shed to fill it up.

It is just as well I did because within minutes these guys had turned up expecting a mid-morning snack. At the rate they were tucking in I reckon I'll be filling it up again on Saturday.

It was so windy today I was lucky to get this shot in one of the rare moments the feeder stopped swinging around.
