Colourful flowers to brighten the day

Last night was a wonderful function including an auction (with Chris Cowdrey as auctioneer) and a raffle prize as it was a fund raising event for a charity. Gavin is always a soft touch when it comes to a worthy charity and so we came home having successfully bid for an auction item - 2 tickets to Glyndbourne with an overnight stay in the hotel there including dinner and breakfast - and he also won a raffle prize - 2 tickets to the BBC Proms next summer. Quite a bargain at the cost of the ticket!

Today was miserable with rain all day. Thomas sprained his ankle at training yesterday so could not play rugby today, and given the rainy conditions this was not a bad thing for us! Somehow the day seemed to disappear - I spent some time reading a book I have bought on my camera, trying to learn all the settings and new features. The weather did not give many opportunities for photos so I took a photo of these flowers I was given at the party last week by some of Adam's friends. I cannot believe the party was already a week ago - thank goodness we had fabulous weather then, compared to today.

Tomorrow we are going to Cambridge to take Adam his car so it will be nice to see him again.
