Autumn colour
I woke up to thick fog - I lay in bed and considered rushing out to get some foggy scenes but there was no sunlight, and I know from past experience that fog in dull light does not make a very exciting image. The fog remained until about 11am when it suddenly lifted revealing sunshine and blue skies.
I planned to photograph some sunny scenes but I have been stuck at home waiting for the courier to collect the ice machine we rented for Luke's knee, so I could not go far. We don't have much autumn colour around here yet, but then I suddenly saw this down the lane and wow... it is a beautiful pumpkin orange colour.
I am about to go up to London. We have been invited to a very interesting function tonight that is taking place in the Long Room at Lord's Cricket Grounds - starting off with drinks in Lord's Museum and then followed by dinner and a concert with the main singer being quite a famous opera star who will be singing some Gilbert and Sullivan pieces. Our friend who invited us is in the musical world, as he was one of the founding members of The King's Singers. It should be a very entertaining evening.
In exactly a month's time I will be at LPH attending a photography workshop in the Lake District. A few blippers are also attending the same week (5-10 November) but there are still places available if anyone else would like to join us. As one of my photography friends said to me yesterday, we attend these workshops as it's a good way to see beautiful places and you get to spend time with pleasant kindred spirits.
