Stratford Upon Avon
We were up in time for a delicious breakfast this morning. We had the works and totally pigged out. So much so that we went back to the room for a mid morning nap to sleep it off. Well when in Rome...!
Once we were up for a second time we got a taxi into town. We were pleasantly surprised to see a food and drink festival in town. We had a good look around all the stalls and got ourselves some lunch. We walked down to the riverside and saw the RSC theatre. The town is gorgeous with all the old architecture and even on a wet day it looked lovely. We stumbled upon a tent that was hosting some cookery demonstrations. We sat down inside to escape the rain and enjoyed a very informative talk about cheese! The main attraction was 25 kilo cave aged cheddar that was opened and given out to try. It was yummy.
We had tapas for tea at a wonderful riverside restaurant. It was tiny and only had 8 tables. Luckily they squeezed us in and we enjoyed some very yummy dishes.
Back to the hotel and we relaxed in the room. I read a few chapters of my book and even did some yoga before bed.
Earlier in the day I had asked James the time and he replied “for us this weekend, time is but a concept” and he was right. No chores, no responsibility, no time. Pure bliss.
