Lady of the manor

We dropped the kids at school and then headed to our country retreat for the weekend at Stratford Upon Avon. We stopped on route for some shopping and then arrived at the manor just after lunch. I was blown away by how beautiful the place was. An Elizabethan Manor House frequented by Shakespeare and apparently the play As you like it was written in the library. The gardens were also amazing and our room was overlooking them!

We unpacked our things had a little walk in the grounds and then went inside for tea and cake. The afternoon consisted of a swim in the spa pool, more exploring of the building and relaxing in the room. How nice to not have anything to do but just relax!

In the evening we went down for dinner. A yummy 3 course set menu that really hit the spot. We took our bottle of wine to finish in the drawing room before finally falling into bed.
