The Bride
What a lovely, lovely day. After a three hour drive, through some beautiful countryside we arrived in Clearwell at 12noon. Checked into our very amazing room (two four poster beds, no less) and got ready.
Met Lisa (who used to be one of my bosses in Cardiff) and her husband and daughter. Carys and Emma hit off straight away despite it being around two years since they have seen each other. A very short walk down the drive to a lovely little Church to meet the Groom and his party.
Then at 1.30 Claire arrived looking amazing. She managed to look at people and smile as she walked down the aisle, which is more than I did on my day. It was a beautiful service, William enhanced it for those nearest us with his singing and his attempts at blowing out the candles at the end of the pews!
At the reception there was a harpist who very generously allowed the children (and the Bride) to try playing her harp. Carys played it and the wandered off. William, being William, played it, had to be persuaded to let someone else try, got down and immediately went to the back of the queue to have another go. Second time round as no one was waiting it took a little longer to prise him away.
Sadly at about 8pm Carys sucumbed to either the bug W had earlier in the week or too much food and excitement as she managed to be sick all down the back of Daddy's new suit trousers (Thank goodness it wasn't down Claire's dress or Simon's trousers!)! Bless her she was so upset. So off to bed went C and Daddy.
Mummy and W followed about an hour later as all he wanted to do was play table football in the playroom and I was reluctant to leave him in there with the bigger girls because he is still really quite young and it meant I was unable to join my friends in the disco. It wasn't exactly the way I envisaged the evening panning out but it didnt spoil what had been a fantastic day.
